Full Day of Activities Planned at SDCC!

We know we’ve talked a lot about our DEFIANT activations for SDCC, but that’s not all Legion M has going on this weekend. So if you are heading out to the convention, be sure to add us to your schedule—we’d love to see you there!

Legion M will be at booth #4022 all 4 days of SDCC—where you can stop by to chat with the team, get exclusive new merch, and a cool free Nandor Fodor and the Talking Mongoose poster (while supplies last). We’re also kicking things off with a “Legion M: It’s All Happening!” panel on Thursday July 20th from 6:00pm - 7:00pm PDT in Room 6BCF. Hear project updates from the Legion M executive team, and get all the latest on how Legion M is uniting fans to change the face of Hollywood.

On Friday July 21st from 5:30pm - 6:30pm, Legion M’s David Baxter is moderating the "Fans Who Became Fandom" panel in room 6DE, which focuses on (and features) a collection of creative talent who all started as pop culture fans and—in the course of their careers—became the popular subject of fandom.

Then Saturday July 22nd, we have not one, but TWO amazing panels—plus a rockin’ party you won’t want to miss.

We’re starting it all off at 3:00pm - 4:00pm PDT in Room 6DE with our "Defiant: The Story of Robert Smalls" panel. Moderated by Legion M’s Chris Cooper, the discussion features graphic novel writer Rob Edwards, producer Marvin Jones III, editor Chris Robinson, and artists Nikolas Draper-Ivey and Ray-Anthony Height. This is the place to find out everything you’ve ever wanted to know about our Defiant project, plus get some sneak peeks of the art from the graphic novel

Wondering how we’re going to follow that up? With another coveted Hall H appearance…that’s how! Join us from 4:30pm - 6:00pm PDT for our "William Shatner: You Can Call Me Bill" panel, and celebrate the icon himself. Though Bill has respectfully withdrawn from attending in solidarity with his striking brethren of the SAG, you can still beam into Hall H for an entertaining discussion on two of his most recent adventures (Legion M’s YCCMB doc and his real-life journey to space). Plus witness some fascinating clips from the documentary and a lively chat between doc director Alexandre O. Philippe; Hall H usher-turned-Space for Humanity Citizen Astronaut (and first Mexican-born woman in space) Katya Echazarreta; Michael Edmonds, Sr. VP at Blue Origin; Rachel Lyons, Executive Director of Space for Humanity; and Legion M executives Jeff Annison & David Baxter.

But that’s not all! Cap off your day with a party under the stars on the Berkeley steamship in downtown San Diego to celebrate the launch of our Defiant: The Story of Robert Smalls graphic novel. Whether you spent the day at SDCC or are just looking for something fun to do on a Saturday night—get your tickets here and join the all-star Defiant team (and other special guests) for an experience you won’t soon forget! (no comic con badge required)

It’s going to be an incredible week, and we can’t wait to see you all there.

Onward & Upward!
