Legion M members orbit the Saturn Awards!

For 45 years the Saturn Awards have been the only award show to honor the very best in science-fiction, fantasy and horror TV and feature film. This year, for the first time ever, Legion M offered fans the opportunity to vote and attend! The “LEGION M BREAKOUT DIRECTOR AWARD” celebrates the best first-time director for genre film.

Check out what some of our members had to say about the experience below!

Attending the Saturn Awards with Legion M was, in a word, fantastic! Both as a fan of the movie genres represented, the people in the room, and meeting fellow Legion M shareholders. Furthermore, connecting with Legion M staff continued to reinforce how passionate these people are about storytelling, and how stoked they are to incorporate fan-based knowledge into the fold. Highly recommend!

I have always wanted to attend a Hollywood Awards show and after-party. A bucket list item since I was in high school. I have entered contest after contest over the years to try and win tickets to an award show with no luck.

When I heard Legion M had some tickets to purchase for the Saturn Awards, I was beside myself with excitement. Here was my chance to finally go to an awards show! I didn’t hesitate and bought my tickets the day they were announced. I knew it would be amazing and it absolutely was.

The venue was small and intimate, and the pre-cocktail party was fun with endless drinks flowing. The balcony seats were swanky padded benches with small tables. We were provided sandwiches, other comestibles and our very own bar. The after-party was in the same venue, which made it easy to transition from the awards to the after- party upstairs.

Everyone I met from Legion M was so incredibly personable, and the celebrities I met were more than kind taking photos with me and my husband. I think the highlight for me was taking a photo with two Saturn Awards in my hands.

It was definitely a night to remember, and I am so incredibly thankful that I was able to attend. I have had so many once-in-a-lifetime moments since investing in Legion M; attending Stan Lee’s handprint ceremony, multiple movie premieres at Sundance and in LA, Stan Lee’s Tribute ceremony, and now the Saturn Awards. None of these experiences would have been possible without Legion M. Onward and upward!

The Saturn Awards? Me? Yes, that just happened!

Ever since I joined Legion M, I have had the time of my life! So many events and a variety of opportunities have blessed me. September, Friday the 13th, was another one of those once in a lifetime moments when I was able to attend the 45th annual Saturn Awards, where Legion M now has our own award!

The Saturn Awards are unique in that it’s not televised and everyone that attends is either cast or crew of the nominated films. Well, that is until this year!

I was one of the lucky few to snag a ticket to the show, and I can’t describe how electric the experience was. We were at the pre-show cocktail party and mingled with so many celebrities! Legion M Advisory Board members Dean Devlin and Leonard Maltin were there chatting with all of us.

Watching the awards show LIVE was such a surreal experience, and I can’t even begin to describe the ultimate after-party in their upstairs rooftop area. The space was covered with multiple rooms, bars, luxurious seating areas and a dance floor with a banging DJ! We danced with Jessica Green (from “The Outpost”) and Khary Payton (TWD’s King Ezekiel and Teen Titians Go’s Cyborg)! How many people can say they danced with the King all night? There were others on the dance floor including Josh Waller from Spectrevision!

While dancing and mingling, I would look around at everyone knowing that somehow all these people work to create the movies and shows that we all love! To reveal my nerd card, yet again, I might have internally fangirled when I met Melissa Benoist (Supergirl)! I was able to talk to Doug Jones again who is always so sweet to his fans. His acceptance speech was so very touching.

Thank you Legion M for always thinking of the fans and the many opportunities you provide to us! This is right up there with the Stan Lee House Party, and our first year at Sundance! I am at a loss for words! It was truly AMAZING!
