Legion Insider #036

Did you know that the iconic “Bullet Time'' special effect used in The Matrix was created using a sequence of over 100 separate cameras? According to Screen Rant, frames from around 120 cameras were blended together to create the full 360 effect. Of course, that’s assuming that WE are not in a Matrix-level simulation right now, in which case there were actually NO cameras and we’re all laying around in vats of goo. Just a small existential crisis to round out your Wednesday.

A Match Made In HollywoodIf you’ve been keeping up with our emails (if you’re reading this, the odds are good) you might recall an announcement we made several weeks ago that our latest film The Man In The White Van had been fully financed through an outside partner. Today, we’re thrilled to peel back the curtain and reveal the financial wizards behind this film: Garrison Film! Garrison Film is a brand new independent film financing entity seeking to invest in a broad slate of films - includingLegionM projects. According to their press release: "We are excited about the partnership withLegionM Entertainment. We believe that our publicly held company solves what makes independent film financing so hard – lack of liquidity. Typically, independent film producers seeking financing must overcome the challenge of convincing equity investors to cashflow a film’s production to its revenue-generating release, which may take years. Such investments may never become liquid, creating an untenable cycle between the needs of film producers and the timing of returns required by film investors. Our company, Garrison Film has set out to solve this challenge. We believe there is a better way to protect entertainment investors by enabling them to participate in a liquid investment entity." We’re very excited to be working with Garrison Film, and look forward to sharing more information about the first fruits of this partnership very soon. If things develop the way we believe they can, this will mark the beginning of a long and rewarding relationship for both companies. One of the best parts of aLegionM production is getting the community involved. And while that is a lot harder than we’d like right now due to COVID restrictions, we still have some amazing opportunities to get involved with the film. So if you’ve got some free time on your hands over the next two months and can get yourself to the set in Louisiana, check out our list of production requests and see if anything fits the bill.
